Nabokov (ナボコフ, Nabokofu) is a supporting character in Suikoden IV. Nabokov is a dedicated appraiser looking to improve his skills.
Nabokov“ It isn't that there is a problem, but... I wish Mr. Shiramine would work harder at hauling up treasure. ”
Nabokov worked as an appraiser in the Kingdom of Obel prior to its occupation by the Kooluk Empire. Although he was a serious, hard-working man, he was not yet an expert at appraisal.
His talents would expand when he joined the crew of the Headquarters Ship in order to help appraise any items salvaged by the vessel. He would open an appraisal shop on board the ship, coming across a great variety of items and antiques from across the Island Nations. His view of appraisal was that it should focus on determining the physical nature of items, not their value. This methodology frustrated Lilin, who brought him a seashell in the expectation of having a value assigned to it.
Once the Island Liberation War ended, Nabokov left on a journey in order to spread the art of appraisal.
