Lorelai (ローレライ, Rōrerai) is a recurring character who appears in Suikoden, Suikoden II, Suikoden V and Gensosuikogaiden Volume 2. Lorelai is a Sindar hunter, hoping to uncover the mysteries of the ancient race.

“ Forget it. I don't hang around with weaklings. ”

Lorelai was a warrior enduring an adventurous journey. The purpose of her journey was never made entirely clear but it seemed tied into uncovering the mysteries of the Sindar, the ancient people who had mysteriously disappeared from history. Her cleverness served her well in his investigations, even if she had a habit of being loud and blunt, especially she was younger.

Her main rival in her investigations is the fellow Sindar hunter, Killey. The two would often place obstacles in each others paths and interfere with their respective investigations. At some point in the past, the two were trapped together in the Deep Twilight Ruins but were able to escape thanks to the intervention of a time-travelling Viki.

Sometime later, she would involve herself in the affairs of Zweig, seeking to use his research into the Sindar towards her own ends. She would frequently hound and badger Zweig not only for information on the Sindar but also the whereabouts of his supposed secret laboratory where his research was kept. This involvement led her to meeting the Prince at the entrance to the Ceras Lake Ruins during the Sun Rune War. Challenging him to a duel to prove his worth, upon defeat she would worm her way into the group and the Imperial City Recapture Army, in order to explore the ruins and, later, the army's headquarters.

She would meet Viki again during the war, although Viki had not yet met Lorelai from her perspective, confusing matters and leaving Viki feeling bullied. She would also meet up with Killey again, after the Prince let him out of his confinement in Agate Prison. Following the Sun Rune War, she would ransack Zweig's previously hidden research laboratory, making off with his research materials. The results of her own independent research would eventually take her north, to the Scarlet Moon Empire. At some point she would also lure Killey back to Falena, managing to succeed in getting him arrested and imprisoned once again.

During the Gate Rune War, she would join the Toran Liberation Army in Kouan, seemingly just to improve her own strength after noting and respecting the strength of its leader. She wielded a short bow during the war, which suited her as such a bow could be used without high physical strength. Following the war, she would continue her journey for a time before coming to Gregminster during the Dunan Unification War three years later.

As a realist who respected strength and ability, Lorelai would agree to join the New State Army after meeting and assessing the strength of its leader in Gregminster. She would fight with a scythe during the war, instead of her bow. She had inherited the scythe from Kirke after his retirement following the Gate Rune War. Around this time, she would also meet up with Killey once again, the two of them technically allies under the banner of the New State Army despite their obvious hostility.

After the Dunan Unification War ended, Lorelai would begin to make her way to Kanakan, intending to investigate a Sindar ruin there before Killey could reach it.
