Faylen (フェイレン, Feiren) is a supporting character in Suikoden V. Faylen is an orphan from the streets of Rainwall, making her way through life as best she can with her brother, Faylon, and friend, Roy.

Biography

Faylen is an urchin from Rainwall and the little sister of Faylon. Although she first appears as a mountain bandit, it is clear that this criminal persona is a facade and, in reality, Faylen is a kind, friendly young woman with an acerbic tongue.

Following the Prince's abandonment of the Barows Faction she was recruited, along with her brother and Roy, by Euram Barows to help sully the Prince's name by committing banditry in Sable in his name. While Roy was disguised as the Prince, Faylen was also supposed to be disguised as Lyon but that plan was cancelled when Roy laughed at the costume she was supposed to wear.

Eventually, the real Prince travelled to Sable where he infiltrated the bandit's hideout on Ranro Mountain. Faylen, unlike her brother, was not confused by the sudden appearance of the Prince. She, along with her brother, was defeated in battle, which allowed the Prince to find, and eventually capture, Roy. Following this, the group agreed to help the Prince uncover Euram's plot. Afterwards, Roy was asked to join the Imperial City Recapture Army and agreed, upon condition that his friends be released. Although the Prince granted this request, Faylen and Faylon agreed to fight with Roy rather than leave.

Faylen had a large crush on Roy and so didn't like Lyon very much due to Roy's feelings for the Prince's bodyguard. Luserina Barows tried to make Faylen and her brother as comfortable as possible during their stay due to Euram's past misdeeds. Faylen would later be surprised at the kindness shown to her and her friends by the people of the castle. Although she cared for her brother, Faylen sometimes remarked that Faylon did not act as a big brother should and considered him to be pretty stupid.

After the war, when Roy left to become an actor, Faylen headed to the northern continent in pursuit of him. She eventually found him in training and smothered him with care; she also decided to join his troupe, along with Faylon.

Trivia

  • If the Prince does not recruit Faylen and Faylon before the New Armes Kingdom begins its assault on Sable, the siblings will both perish in the invasion and be buried in the cemetery at your castle.
