Chisato (チサト, Chisato) is a supporting character in Suikoden V. She is an exceptionally talented but shy puppeteer, voice actor, and ventriloquist known as "The Woman of a Thousand Voices".

Biography

Chisato is a master puppeteer as well as an exceptional voice actor and ventriloquist. Despite her outstanding talents, however, Chisato was considered something of a myth, known as "The Woman of a Thousand Voices", due to her shy nature keeping her from taking the spotlight. Still, she delighted in entertaining children and so traveled far and wide performing solo puppet shows, her shyness and skills negating the need for any partners. For a time, while in the Island Nations Federation, she journeyed along with Norma and Ernst, becoming good friends with the duo.

During the Sun Rune War, Chisato was working on Nirva Island, where she performed an outstanding puppet show, the subject of which being a battle between Flare and the infamous pirate Brandeau. Disbelieving children could not accept afterwards that the soft-spoken Chisato had managed to replicate the growling voice of Brandeau or the confident tones of Flare. She was actually invited to join the Imperial City Recapture Army after the show but refused, unable to think of any way she could be of use.

She remained on the island until she heard a child had been taken hostage for pirates for use in negotiations for the release of their captain. Recognizing the child as Sey, one of the fans of her puppet shows, Chisato wanted to help but had no idea what to do. The Prince would come up with a plan that involved covering Chisato with a cloak and having her duplicate the captain's voice, fooling the pirates long enough for the child to be released and the group to be captured.

Afterwards, a happy, if visibly shaken, Chisato agreed to join the Prince's forces. At the army's headquarters at Ceras Lake, her puppet shows became popular with many residents including Shun Min and, somewhat surprisingly, Yahr. An embarrassing incident happened when Toma put in an excerpt of dialogue from a script Chisato was working on into the Prince's comment box, thinking it a declaration of love for the Prince himself.

Once the Sun Rune War ended, Chisato joined a travelling puppet troupe, delighting children everywhere with her voice skills and expert storytelling.
